Finally Friday Wine Pairing – Mauro Sebaste Centobricchi 2014. A nice Barbera d’ Alba from Italy. Bright yet opaque, ruby red in color with a bright pink rim. Nose of roasted meat, licorice, dark cherry and black pepper. Interesting flavor profile. Starts with a burst of sweet fruit; blueberry and strawberry that gives way to tart cherry and cranberry. Medium silky tannins. It has a short oaky finish. I give it 88 points IMHO.
This wine is quite complex but is still bold enough with a nice acid level to pair well with steak and chicken fajitas.
