Wednesday Wine Pick. Every Wednesday I try to find a quality one that won’t last the budget. Cantina Zaccagnini Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2011. Very pretty, translucent, deep Garnet color with a plum rim. On the nose is some toasted bread, eucalyptus, cedar shavings, graphite and menthol. Very pleasant. The flavors or fruit forward; blackberry, dark cherry, and plums over some earthy note – leather and black tea. It’s a bit on the sweet side. Medium silky tannins. Long warming finish with a touch of oak. Long, long legs. I give it 88 points IMHO. About $11 at Costco.
