Each Wednesday I try to find a quality wine that won’t bust the budget. Bird Song Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 2014. This Columbia Valley wine has a deep plum color with a pale ruby rim. The nose is faint but has notes of graphite and cedar shavings over a layer of blueberry cobbler and vanilla. The flavors are rich and fruit forward; ripe plums, blackberry with a touch of black pepper. Fine grained mild tannins. It has a long warming finish It needs about an hour decant to really open up. This is a nice mid-week wine for about $10. I give it 86 points IMHO.
