Wednesday Wine Pick. Each Wednesday I try to find a quality wine that won’t bust the budget. Butter Chardonnay 2015. The name aptly fits this buttery Chard. Pretty deep gold in color. Nose of movie theater buttered popcorn with some honeyed pear notes. The flavors are sweet apple, creme brulee and cracked pepper. It has an almost effervescent quality on the tip of your tongue. The finish is long, warming and spicy with a healthy dose of oak. Keep this one well chilled, as it gets warm the presents a touch bitter. But overall a nice, enjoyable Chardonnay. It’s a good value at about $13. One of my recent Total Wine finds. I give it 86 points IMHO.
