Wednesday Wine Pick 5/16

Each Wednesday I try to find a quality wine that won’t bust the budget. Robert Mondavi Private Selection Pinot Noir 2016. I really enjoyed the Mondavi Private Selection Cabernet a few weeks ago, so I figured I would give this a taste as well. 🍷

Bright burgundy color with a pale plum rim. Nose of blackberry, vanilla, cedar and herbs. Flavors of ripe blackberry, cherry, tart cranberry with a great spicy backbone. Grippy tannins. The finish is incredibly long and warming. 🍇

Surprisingly rich for a $10 Pinot. It’s really hard to find a quality Pinot under $15, let alone $10. This wine represents a great value. I give it 88 points IMHO.👍
